Backyard Seeds Coarse Sunflower Chips Bird Seed

I purchase a fair amount of these 50# bags. My mother and brother both feed the birds, out of town from me, but their options for sunflower hearts/chips is limited, and those that are available are very high priced (especially lately). It got to the point they could no longer afford to feed the birds. I found that my local Country Max had 50# bags of this product, available on-line but not in stores, and a pretty good price. The first purchase proved this was a higher quality product. I've been getting 3 bags once a month. It is cheaper via a subscription. After a couple months, the bags changed from a brown mostly unmarked bag to a white bag. It seemed to look fine, but the birds didn't seem to eat as much for some reason. Now it's changed back to the brown bags (but still seem a little different) and we are unsure how the birds will react. Overall, it's a good product and a very good price. We may need to lay off a bit on the order rate depending on bird consumption.

I have had some issues with deliver to the local Country Max store. At first it was fine. Lately, I've seen the order date come and go, being charged for the product, and it taking upwards of 3 weeks to get to the store, where at first it was there within a few days. It might be supply chain demands, but it is troubling as I'm driving 2 hours to deliver this and my trips are planned once a month. When the product is not available, we had to purchase from another supplier at a higher rate to get by. That coupled with the multiple visits to the store to try to pick it up only to find out it was not there. The store personnel are friendly and helpful.

The product and the people behind the product (ESPECIALLY!!!) are THE BEST! Always on time and whenever needed.

I purchased this for my mother and brother as their local options became too expensive. This is a great price and the quality is better than what they were getting. Cleaner. Nice bigger chips. I will note that the bags changed on the most recent order (12/2025) from what they were just weeks before. So far, we don't have a complaint. The price did increase a small amount.

First time I tried the smaller size and they were great shipping them to me in a rush.

Best quality, according to the birds and critters, and best service (THANKS BRE!!!) according to us, which is why this is our go to brand.
