The closing mechanism is great, but my squirrels will hang from their toenails to get out the seed, or chew holes in the plastic to release the seed.
Works better if you have average or dumb squirrels. They are amazing to watch to see how smart they are though.

This worked great!! The squirrels weight pulls down the outer spring loaded cage, and shuts off the openings to the food. They try, but can't get at it. The cage doesn't move when the birds land on it even if there's a bird on each perch! Would definitely recommend.
