Maracyn® Two Powder
A broad-spectrum antibiotic for aquariums, absorbed through the fish’s skin to treat internal and systemic infections. Effective against gram-negative bacteria, with some activity against gram-positive and fungal infections—making it an excellent first-choice treatment when the cause is unknown.
Treats: Fin & tail rot, popeye, septicemia, dropsy, internal infections, and secondary infections from injuries or parasites. Symptoms may include clamped fins, tissue damage, loss of appetite, or unusual behavior. Prompt treatment is recommended.
Active Ingredient: Minocycline
Directions & Dosage:
Day 1: Add 2 packets per 10 gallons of water.
Days 2–5: Add 1 packet per 10 gallons of water daily.
Day 6: Perform a 25% water change. If symptoms persist but improve, repeat the 5-day treatment once. If no improvement, try Maracyn®, Maracyn® Oxy, or consult a veterinarian/fish expert.
Important Notes:
• Use in a quarantine tank for best results.
• Remove carbon during treatment; maintain water flow/aeration.
• May cause foaming with protein skimmers/airstones—pause skimmer if needed.
• UV sterilizer can remain on.
• Cloudiness during treatment is normal and clears afterward.
• Complete all 5 doses, even if symptoms improve early.
• Safe with invertebrates and most plants (some sensitive plants may yellow temporarily).
• Do not perform water changes during treatment; detoxify ammonia/nitrite if needed.
• If overdosed and fish show distress, perform a large water change.
