This all-purpose Black Gold Natural & Organic Potting Soil is recommended for containers and raised beds. Enriched with earthworm castings, it contains mix of peat moss and compost in addition to perlite and pumice to ensure good aeration.

Black and Gold Natural and Organic

Over the years I have purchased several different brands of soil mixes. This is the first time I've bought Black and Gold. I have 3 new steel Vego beds to fill and decided to shop locally at Country Max. This is by far the best-composed "natural" and "organic" mix I've ever used. Due to weather constraints here in upstate NY near the lake, I've used only 2 of the 2 cubic foot bags thus far, BUT there was a total of only 3 very small and thin pieces of old wood in the entire mix. Other supposedly wonderful brands including Miracle-Gro and several others have had plastic, stones, and large pieces of wood...and unidentifiable "stuff." This Black and Gold has no mold or obvious bugs and actually smells fresh. I'm optimistic that my plants will likely do very well in this product!
