I find that here in the Northeast, birds eat these year-round. So many kinds of birds are attracted to black oil sunflower seeds! We also discovered, by accident, that groundhogs love them, too. They sit in our ground feeder and gobble the seeds up! But that's better than them chewing on my flowers. :)
